ABOUT AUSTIN OWENS
San Antonio, Texas is the place I call home. As a native Texan, I am a passionate outdoorsman. My top hobbies include: hunting, surfing, fly-fishing, and spending time with my friends. Aside from all of the knowledge from the academic side of college, Baylor has taught one thing: being around people is where I thrive. I am a great communicator, but an even better listener. Everyone has a story and discovering each person's story is where my passion lies. But, just as everyone had warned me, the last three years at Baylor have flown by. I have thoroughly enjoyed my experiences at this incredible University. I have met some of my best friends through my fraternity, joined the ProSales program, and spiritually grown in ways I did not think were possible. All this to say, Baylor has helped me build a trampoline that will launch me higher than anyone into the workforce the day that I get my college degree.

I am your best S.H.O.T.
S - Solves Problems: The summer in between in my freshman and sophomore year of college, I worked on the beach where my sole job was to solve people’s problems. Customers were constantly frustrated with the location of their chairs and umbrellas and it was my job to make them the happiest customer within seconds of speaking to them.
H - Hardest Working: In high school I worked as a ranch-hand at Joshua Creek Ranch and was asked to gather 4 of my buddies to pick sticker burs so that the dogs could hunt this particular field in the upcoming hunting season. After two weeks went by, I was the only one left and the owner promoted me to join the guiding crew through which I built an outstanding network of successful businessmen across Texas.
O - Optimistic: Working trade shows since I was fourteen, has allowed me to see the word “No” differently. Rather than being discouraged when facing rejection, I see it as an opportunity.
T - Tactful: This past summer, I interned with Gallagher. In the benefits services sector, our job is to identify places where companies are spending unnecessary portions of their budget. Because the scale of these expenditures can be so large, I gained a new skill set in knowing when to come off as strong or soft in regards to a sales cycle.
Because of my previous experience and my hunger to constantly learn and develop, I am your best S.H.O.T.
